THE OLYMPICS COMES TO BEIJING
CCTV, the host nation’s broadcaster of the Beijing 2008 Olympics asked Sandy MacMillan to direct the main title sequence to brand all their coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Paralympics. The 60 second piece was used daily across four of CCTV’s national channels, and was watched by approximately 1 billion people in China. The Chinese Five Elements of Water, Earth, Fire, Wood and Gold combine with Olympians in landmark places across Beijing.
